My coworker told me that his oneish-year-old daughter does this. He and his wife would say "No!" and waive their fingers no! every time she got near the dog food bowl... so she started standing over the bowl, saying "No!" while pointing her finger, and then continuing to eat out of the bowl.
Ah yes, we have one that did that too. Except it was cat food. And no matter how many times she was told no, it still was more appealing than anything else we offered.
And the cat really didn't find it amusing.
In the early days with a camcorder (remember those?) we spent way too many minutes recording this. I mean lots of minutes. And now with a girl who is a teenager, and is stubborn, feisty and tenacious we love to pull this tape out and make her watch it. She cringes, lessons learned. And laughs. And I also have to say she did enjoy dog biscuits at PetCo (what was I thinking or doing?) and now loves just about everything, but not cat food. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
